Being yourself in fitness goals.

We all see the pictures and of the pretty people in every magazine and on every TV commercial. Lets discuss the realities of everyone looking like that.

If it were easy we all would look that good. If there was a pill we would all take it to look that good.

Sadly none of this is true. Also, keep in mind genetics plays an huge roll in how you look. Now im not defending those who choose to hit a fast food place every day or those who cried when they discontinued the Twinky. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twinkie

It takes time and dedication to make changes like that. Now, ask yourself the question, what is good enough for me in my fitness?

You have to be smart about it. You need to set realistic goals for yourself. Be honest with how much time you can commit to your fitness and build appropriate goals around that. Perhaps physically  perfect can not be managed? If that is the case what can you except for yourself? Often times I believe just being strong is appropriate, other days I think all that matters is I build and maintain a strong Cardio Pulmonary system.  What is it that you want? A good example of this is something we hear all the time. “I want a six pack” well the reality is different to gain that than you might think. In order to do that you need a body fat lower than 10%. Not that easy for the bulk of the population. So set reasonable goals that you can reach to inch to that bigger goal.

Maybe excepting who you are is the key. Be the best you you can be and find joy in that.
